Midlands Regional Action Plan for Jobs Implementation Committee

While the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation oversees the Regional Action Plans for Jobs at national level each Regional Action Plan is monitored by a Regional Implementation Committee at regional level.

Enterprise Champions

Many of the actions set out in the Regional APJs are delivered by public sector bodies acting collaboratively. Some of the actions require active engagement with the private sector so strong business representation is required.

To this end, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation has appointed locally based enterprise champions to each Regional Implementation Committee to work with the public bodies on the implementation of the Plans, including the identification of new actions to be added to the Plans as they evolve.

Pat Gallagher Chief Executive of Westmeath County Council chairs the committee and Paul Madden, Head of SON Development at Ericsson, Co. Westmeath is vice chair.

The other Enterprise Champions in the Midlands are Wayne Byrne, MD of Oxymem, Co. Westmeath; Garry Moore, CEO of Steripack, Co. Offaly; Linda O’Reilly, CEO of Elephant Smart Business, Co. Longford; and Seamus Delaney, Director of Internal Results, Co. Laois.
